for the Joint Analysis System (JAS) (formerly
Joint Warfare System (JWARS)), a joint, multi-force,
theater-level warfare simulation. JAS enables decision
makers to predict and analyze the results of campaigns,
actions and decisions at 500 to 1000 times real
time — leading directly to the ability to evaluate
and reduce the risks of impending battle space decisions
and actions. JAS coordinates land, air, space or
maritime maneuvers in a common battle space and
simulates other critical aspects of modern combat,
including chemical weapons, coalition forces, satellites,
missile defense, C4ISR systems, and strategic theater
logistics and mobility. The U.S. Joint Forces Command
(USJFCOM) assumed management of JAS from Office
of the Secretary of Defense Program Analysis and
Evaluation (OSD PA&E) in January 2006. |
